Several different types of braided trims made from plain wire. Original finds are:
Fourfold braid with simple extensions made from double gold wire (P4). Length approx. 26 cm. Found in Birka grave 644 above the skull of a man.
Fourfold braid as before but with one pair of cross-shaped extensions (P5). Length approx. 27 cm. Found in the head area of the man from Birka grave 542.
Braid as before with one pair of cross-shaped extensions made from double silver wire (P6). Length approx. 18 cm. Found in the male grave Birka 710.
Braid with alternately two pairs of single and one pair of cross-shaped extensions (P7). Made from double gold wire. Length approx. 28 cm. Found in the head region of the passament-rich male grave 524.
Reproductions of the trims are possible in gold-filled, silver or brass wire. The price depends on material, length and the number of cross-shaped extensions.
